I am very happy to announce that I will be teaching on Tuesday, August 15th in Oak Park at a Studio Soliday (classes are open to the public for this workshop. Details will be sent upon registration.)

Workshops are from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The fee is $75 per person and that includes almost everything needed to make the book (see the list below of what I will be bringing.) Please note the small supply list.

Please note that Studio Soliday breaks at noon for a potluck lunch. Please bring something delicious to share!

My workshops aim to teach a variety of NEW ideas involving collage, creative processing, self expression, composition, design, layering, painting and much, much more.

My workshops are always process-based learning while creating a unique product. I am well known for not traveling light and bring a large variety of supplies including (but not limited to) collage material, rubber stamps, stencils, pens, markers, tape and more.

Please note there is a small supply list.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Phases of You
Eager to experiment with canvas, acrylics and paper? In this workshop, we will combine layers of acrylic, paper and more onto canvas. We'll then cut up our canvas, rework it and transform the pages into a book (or books if you want to make smaller journals.)
You will learn new techniques in collage, layering with acrylics, color theory, composition, design, and much, much more. Be prepared to get messy!
Supply list: an apron, scissors, a small selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images and papers), brayer (if you have one) or old credit card for spreading paint, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, a full roll of paper towels OR old rags, permanent black ink pad (only if you have one), a container for your paint water,  1 to 2" brush to glue and paint (I like chip or bristle brushes) as well as a few, smaller, detailed brushes, PVA (only IF you have it, if not, I will have PVA or gel medium for you to use), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)
Class Sample Photos (before they are cut up and made into a journal):
